BoarMusicBot, our discord bot dedicated to music
BoarMusicBot is a Discord bot dedicated to music, based on MusicBot by Just-Some-Bots.
the bot being public, do not hesitate to invite it to your server.
The bot works with Youtube, Soundcloud and Spotify but can also be used to listen to web radios.
List of discord bot commands (identical on all servers where it is present):
- b!play: to add music to the playlist (indicate the URL or artist and title to search for)
- b!queue: displays the playlist and music on hold (20 tracks maximum).
- b!np: Shows the music currently playing
- b!skip: to vote in order to play the music that is being broadcast
- b!search: To search for music
If the bot is not present in the voice channel, use the b!summon command
To disconnect the bot from a room, use the b!disconnect command
When members do not add music, or those already added have all been played, the bot plays the titles from the auto-playlist, you can use b!skip to launch a vote to move on to the title you have added so that the bot goes from the auto playlist to the music you requested.
To change the bot volume:
Simply on the right (or on the phone by sliding your finger from right to left), right-click (or on the phone by clicking) on the member then move the circle below [User volume] (or on the phone by clicking on [User settings] and moving the circle below [volume]).
Some features may vary or not be available, this depends on the configuration and operating mode chosen for the administrators of the servers where the bot is invited.
The invitation link configures the role with the permissions necessary for the bot to function correctly, but you can adapt it according to your needs.
If you want to change the bot nickname on your server, don't do it manually, use the b!setnick command.
The b!stream command allows you to listen to web radio, but it can also be a live Youtube, Twitch or Livestream link.
If the bot bugs by indicating a message that it is not connected to a voice room even though it appears in the list), use the command b!disconnect then b!summon
the stream listening feature is still experimental and may cause issues
In agreement with the host of our Discord bot, updates are made every Monday, an interruption of bot service for a maximum of 10-15 minutes is to be expected depending on the number of updates to be made.
We are currently using it on our Discord server : the bot connects in the Music room and the commands are to be used in the #bot-musique room (Or you can also find announcements of new features and updates, ask for help in the #boarmusicbot-help room or send us your suggestions in the #boarmusicbot-suggestions room) as well as that of Seven Geek Sama.
The discord bot is hosted free of charge by Razor Server, a personal server dedicated to self-hosting.

For example, a server owner requested that only he, his staff and certain people with a very specific role have the possibility of managing the bot.
we therefore adapted the configuration of permissions, by creating very specific groups for the roles and users who are the only ones who can manage BoarMusicBot.
Note: It is not possible to change the avatar of our Discord bot.
