The Festive Autumn Festival: A Festival in a Rural Area

The Festive Autumn Festivals is a festival organized by the association Ardennes Event and taking place on the first weekend of the All Saints’ Day holidays.

The Ardennes Event association wanted to organize it in a rural environment and aimed to make this festival a real springboard for local actors while promoting access to the culture of the mainly rural population of the region.

We studied the cultural environment around Charleville-Mézières and we realized that the residents were very fond of this type of event. However, most taking place in cities, such as Cabaret Vert for example, we wanted to set up in a rural area to facilitate access to the public from surrounding villages and thus encourage them to travel.

We also noticed that local groups were often supported by contemporary music associations to ensure their promotion but that it was also essential for them to promote their style and their music directly to the population. It therefore seemed essential to us to develop a tool allowing them to get as close as possible to their audience, this tool was the Automnales Festives festival.

During the first two editions, the artists who performed came exclusively from the Ardennes department.

This year, the organization has expanded the programming to the Grand Est region and with regard to the actors and partners of the festival, Ardennes Event mainly calls on people from the department in order to encourage short circuits and promote local actors.

The artists and groups present this year: Rouge Congo, Jungle Shakers, Super Herisson, Slipping Kangooros, Jadawee I, Nyctalop and Diggin’ Groovers.

The 2018 Autumn Festivals will take place on October 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 a.m. in Thin-le-Moutier (Salle Polyalente and marquees)
