The American pianist Joachim Horsley, who made himself known on the web in 2016 with his phenomenal “Beethoven in Havana”, an arrangement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony in a Cuban style, is back with Afro Bach and will be in concert at the Givet carousel on March 14, 2025.

A new tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach

A new tribute album to Bach, always rearranged with an Afro-Caribbean flavor.

The virtuoso and film score composer signs the 3rd episode of his Via Havana trilogy, started with a first album in 2019 then a second in 2022.

Learn and master the most complex and technical works of the European classical repertoire (Mozart, Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, Malher, etc.), then arrange them according to the aesthetic codes of Latin music (Cuban jazz, salsa, rumba, etc.) without distorting the original works, or falling into the cultural appropriation of world music.

Joachim Horsley: Multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and conductor

Although he is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and conductor, Joachim Horsley is above all an outstanding American pianist who uses his favorite instrument with talent to take his audience beyond all known musical boundaries.

After working for Disney, HBO and Warner on the soundtracks of “Big City Greens”, “Gordita Chronicles”, “Batman: Soul of the Dragons”, as well as on more than thirty feature and short films, Joachim Horsley unveils his ambitious solo project: arranging and reinterpreting, using Afro-Caribbean sounds and rhythms, the works of the most
great composers of classical music.
