An exhibition on the liberation of the department

While the territory of the Ardennes was finally liberated after a long and trying occupation, 1918 was also the year of the great destruction caused during the fighting and the pain due to this great disaster.

Linked destinies, the liberation of the Ardennes in 1918

This exhibition takes you on a journey to meet the many special destinies that participated in this tragic story that the War and Peace Museum in Ardennes invites you from October 12 to December 23, 2018, through this new temporary exhibition.

The exhibition “Fate linked.” The liberation of the Ardennes in 1918 » borrows its name from the book published this year in Terres Ardennaises editions and shares the logic: that of telling a common story, around a event, the liberation of the Ardennes in 1918. Labeled “Centenary of the Great War”, the exhibition is based on objects from the museum's collections but also on an abundant iconography, most of it unpublished, which illustrates the liberation of a large number of Ardennes communes.
